DC Bird Alliance’s Statement on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

DC Bird Alliance believes that everyone has the right to enjoy birds, the outdoors, and a healthy and safe environment.

We acknowledge that injustice, inequity, and disparity affect many people in our society preventing them from authentically seeing themselves in nature, including here in DC. Further, we recognize that in order to achieve our mission to appreciate and conserve birds and their habitats in all eight wards in the District of Columbia, we must work to include everyone no matter their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, political affiliation, age, disability, and background.

DC Bird Alliance is committed to reflecting Washington, D.C.’s diversity in our leadership and membership. Only by embracing a wide range of values, skills, and perspectives, will DC Bird Alliance truly achieve its advocacy, education, conservation, and outreach goals.
