Become a DC Bird Alliance Committee Member today! We are looking for passionate members like you to join one of our committees and help make a difference. Whether it’s creating content, managing finances, or leading conservation initiatives, our committees provide a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on our work as a volunteer-led organization.

  • Develop campaigns that engage our members and the public in conservation initiatives.

    This can include helping us build lasting relationships
    with other non-profits, local shops, groups, or anything and everything! All in the name of conservation.

  • This committee helps our organization’s mission reach a diverse audience by creating and managing our communications strategy. We encourage creativity and community involvement with all our projects. Below are some roles and projects we are currently looking for help with.

    Writing Tasks:
    ・Copy editing newsletter, event descriptions, website, and social media posts.

    ・Blog entries for event recaps, promotional activities, education, and community involvement. Have a story you’d like to share? Feel free to submit it to us here.

    ・Bird introductions for City Slickers and Familiar Fifteen.

    Submit local photographs for us to use on our website, newsletter and social media here.

  • Lead the design and delivery of educational content that furthers our mission and inspires others to act.

  • Maintain financial records in accordance with governing bodies and documents. Report as required to granting entities. Ensure financial resources are used equitably and sustainably to further our mission.

  • Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive membership base that reflects the diversity of our mission.

  • Plan and execute all chapter programming. Cultivate relationships with public and private stakeholders to build chapter offerings. Manage Bird Guide recruitment, training and scheduling.
